After receiving mobilization orders for forced labor, Mordehai asked members of the movement in Budapest to send him forged documents with which he reached Budapest. He was an underground activist and ran all kinds of errands. At the end of June 1944, Mordehai left Hungary on the train of the Relief and Rescue Committee.
He made aliya and became a member of Kibbutz Negba.
